BA (HONS) FINE ART

As an artist my work is based on concepts surrounding memory, loss and different types of relationships. Through my time spent in both university, and previously in sixth form, I have gained experience in curating exhibitions, working towards a given brief, and collaborating with others; these skills have grown each year and I am passionate to develop these skills. I have exhibited in a few exhibitions, one being the Royal Academy of the Arts’ Summer show in 2022, an experience I will never forget and greatly learnt from.  My work is mostly autobiographical, creating prints using skills from drawing and digital editing and different types of printmaking whilst my images take inspiration from old family photographs.

This is my work:

My practice explores the intimacy within relationships, nostalgia, stories of the past and the effects that time and loss can have on us as human beings. I do not shy away from the sharpest emotions and darkest of experiences within my work, along side the feelings of pure love, joy and innocence. As an individual, I love people, people being people and witnessing people just living. My work is raw, honest and focussed on reflection. I believe an artists’ practice can change depending on what they are experiencing at the time of creating. Last year I experienced something extremely traumatic resulting in my move to NUA and transferring in to year two. An experience that has completely shaped me and thankfully now, made me stronger. Not only do I now feel closer to the people I am portraying but can honestly empathise with some of the feelings and experiences I use as studies. I feel closer to my practice and I really have started to believe that my passion can be seen within my work. Ethically, I sometimes wonder if I have the right to tell particular stories and this feeds in to my journey as a practicing artist as well as a twenty year old woman living in the twenty-first century. Looking back and connecting has helped myself and others and I hope viewers find the opportunity to reminisce, laugh, smile, cry, and most importantly for me, remember.

Thank you for visiting my website! Enjoy.

I am a Fine Art student. I studied at Bath Spa University for my first year and then transferred. I am currently studying at Norwich University of the Arts. I specialise in mainly printmaking but keep an open mind when it comes to experimenting! I love documenting progress in my work and writing about my ideas and curiosities.

I started this website to give myself the opportunity to present my work in a more professional and accessible way. I love all things creative and therefore have known since I was very young that this was the path I wanted to take. At A-levels I studied both Fine Art and Photography which gave me the stepping stones and foundation layers to take me and my work to university level. Although my work has changed visually in the recent years, my ideas and key interests have remained, focusing on personal history, story telling and above all... people just being.
